Working in partnership promoting creative wellbeing
Lena creates and runs her classes from the spacious art studio in Team Valley, which is part of East Street Arts. She has been teaching various textile crafts, such as continental knitting, crochet, freeform crochet, sewing, needle felting, wet felting and eco printing for over five years.
She has also been working with other organisations, such as Gateshead Council running workshops from Gateshead Library; WI delivery workshops and short demonstrations; Creative NE training their trainers and other creative organisations and shops.
She has been passionately promoting benefits of craft for mental health as craft helped her to overcome cancer and as a result started craft sessions at FACT Cancer Support for people affected by cancer four years ago which have been now run by other volunteers.
